Working experience:

The VPSA oxygen generation system mainly consists of a blower, vacuum pump, switching valves, adsorbers and an oxygen balance tank, etc. Raw air is pressurized by a Roots blower and enters the adsorber filled with oxygen molecular sieves, where water, carbon dioxide and nitrogen are adsorbed to produce oxygen. When adsorption reaches a certain level, a vacuum pump is used to evacuate the adsorber, and the adsorbed water, carbon dioxide, nitrogen and a small amount of other gas components are respectively extracted and discharged into the atmosphere, allowing the adsorbent to be regenerated. The above process steps are automatically controlled by a PLC and the switching valve system

PSA nitrogen generation adopts carbon molecular sieve as adsorbent whose capacity of adsorbing oxygen is larger than adsorbing nitrogen. The two adsorbers (a&b) alternately adsorbing and regenerating to separate oxygen from nitrogen in air to obtain purified nitrogen by Auto-operated valves controlled by PLC.

Basic principle: Air is liquefied, and separation is achieved based on the different boiling points of oxygen and nitrogen (argon). The cold energy required for air liquefaction is first provided by compressing the air with a compressor, and then most of the cold energy needed by the air separation equipment is generated by expanding the gas through an expander. The remaining cold energy is provided by the reflux gas in the fractionating column.
